The Kappa Swap

*Exclusive to the Sisters of the Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.*

Do you have books, Kappa gear, baby gear, and/or stationary items that you no longer need, but you want to make sure it goes to a good home? Come out to January Conference to support our first Kappa Community Swap!

Looking for something new to read? You can swap out your books, manga, or comics! Are you a crafty person who has a ton of leftover stationary that is just taking up space in your house? Bring it in, so another sister may be able to make use of it! Have a pile of Kappa gear you no longer wear? Bring in your lettered clothing for other sisters who may be interested in getting more letters! Do you have baby clothes that your little ones have already grown out of, but they are TOO CUTE to simply get rid of? Bring them in so another sister's child can enjoy those awesome clothes!

We want you to bring any of these clean, swap-worthy items! Why now? This is a way for the alumnae to give back to the sorority and to meet other alumnae/actives casually. We also want to promote reuse and recycling of goods. With the Kappa Swap, you can help other sisters out, while finding gems of your own! Come join us at January Conference!

What to bring...

- Baby Clothes/Gear – Up to age 5, clean, gently used (suggestions: shirts, pants, pajamas, sweaters, coats, shoes, winter accessories, carriers/wraps, monitors, etc.)

- Books/Comics/Manga – Clean (suggestions: cookbooks, coffee table books, grad school prep)

- Stationary – Unused (suggestions: stickers, notebooks, pens/markers, fabric, thread, scrap-booking material)

- Kappa Gear – Preferably clean, no need to remote nicknames. (Note: if clothing is too old and unwearable, large block letters will be cut out of clothing for use.) *Please note that while Sisters may donate any of their letters, only sisters who crossed prior to Fall 2010 may wear illegal letters/mementos.*

Policy on letter restrictions: As of Fall 2010, any and all parts of twill (patch) lettering must be in red, white, or grey (regardless of twill size). Stitching is considered part of the twill.

Silver is permitted in place of grey and Pearl is permitted in place of white.
Black is not allowed (other than on the Crest stitching).
Patterns with ONLY sorority colors are allowed. (ONLY Red, White, Grey)
Embroidery, stitching, or screen printing of any size of Kappa Phi Lambda in Greek letters may be in any color.
If a sister who crossed prior to Fall 2010 hands down any illegal letters, they cannot be worn by the younger generations; they are considered mementos.

GIVE.  We are eager to build inventory so please donate as many items as you can! If we run out of table space, we will be rotating items on display.

TAKE. Everything is up for grabs! We will have a sister or two at each table encouraging you to take at least 2 items. All leftover items will be donated to a local charity. (Some awesome items leftover may be saved for our next swap.)

Donation drop-off starts at 7AM.
